Lip Precare PRECARE
As an artist, we are responsible for the application of your service and clients are responsible to provide proper client information and to follow their pre-care & after-care for the best results.
To ensure the best retention, it is recommended to exfoliate the lips a week prior to your procedure by using a small toothbrush or washcloth. After exfoliating, apply Aquaphor for moisture. The softer and more mosturized your lips are, the easier it is to implant the pigment. If your lips are too dry, we will not be able to proceed with the procedure.
IMPORTANT PRECARE INSTRUCTIONS
If you have a known history of cold sores, it is highly recommended that you contact your physician for preventative medication. This is recommended for every session you book.
Tylenol can be taken 30 minutes prior to your treatment without contraindication (NOT IBUPROFEN)
Please eat prior to your procedure as you will have to avoid food for 3 hours post procedure.

Lip Blush POSTCARE
Listed below are strict postcare guidelines on what is recommended for all clients. Keep in mind that your precare sets your body up for the best condition during the session and your postcare sets your body for the best conditions during healing. Everyone will heal at a different rate and it is imperative to follow all instructions as directed to ensure we set your body up for the best healed retention.
CLEANSING
Immediately following the procedure, clients are recommended to keep the treatment area clean. The only time the lip area is to get wet is during the cleansing regimen.
Cleansing Tools: Your artist will provide antiseptic wipes and ointment for you after your appointment
Day 1
2 hours after your procedure, gently treat the area with the antiseptic wipes provided in your kit
After air dried, apply a small amount of aftercare ointment balm using a lip want
Repeat step #1 & 2 after 2 hours
After that, no water or other cleansers of any kind can be used for 5 days
Swelling is normal after the procedure. Some clients will experience more swelling than others. This is due to the individual body reaction. Typically the swelling will go down within a few hours but can take up to 24 hours.
Avoid getting good on your lips for the next 3 hours. Cut food into bite sized pieces, have smoothies, and use a straw when drinking.
Keeping your Lips Moisturized
A very thin layer of the provided lip balm or aquaphor should be applied consistently throughout the day to the treatment area to help speed up recovery and keep the lips from shedding. Increased shedding will increase pigment loss as the pigment is injected to the top layers of skin.
DO NOT USE MINERAL OIL OR PETROLEUM BASED PRODUCTS
APPLYING TOO MUCH MOISTURIZER CAN LEAD TO FADING, so a super thin layer goes a long way
DO NOT LET THE AREA DRY OUT AND CRACK
DO NOT RUB WHEN APPLYING THE BALM. PAT ON ONLY
HEALING RATE
Clients will all heal at different rates. Some individuals will heal faster, some slower.

HEALING PROCESS BREAKDOWN
This is a standard breakdown of the healing process that you may experience. Each individuals healing process is different and results may vary.
DAY 1:
Treated area are approximately 20-25% darker then expected healed results
All clients will have moderate swelling and redness after the procedure
DAY 2-4:
Swelling and redness should have subsided
Treated area will appear darker and bigger than initial shape due to the scabbing process starting on swollen skin from day 1
DAY 5-7:
Shedding and itching will begin
DO NOT pick at scabs, itch, or be too expressive in area of treatment as it can cause loss of pigmentation
DAY 7-8
Shedding should be complete
Pigment will initially appear light, almost non-existent in some areas as pigment was placed under the skins and your skin healed over it. A new layer of shiny skin will form on top of your treated area. Once it’s fully healed, the pigment should resurface and darken.
WEEKS 2-6:
Pigment will begin to darken day by day. Once that new layer of skin is shed, the pigment should resurface and darken.
True color should resurface by week 4-6
TOUCH-UP:
A touch up is normally performed within 6-12 weeks post the initial session. The touchup is to perfect and help seal in pigmentation, ensure retention of shape, and fill in any patchy areas that have not resurfaced properly due to any mishaps during the healing process from poor pre and post care, accidental scratching of scabs, premature flaking of scabs, etc.
Once the treated area is completely healed, any changes or additions that need to be made can be done at your follow-up appointment. Your skin takes about 4-6 weeks for the lip skin cells to completely regenerate and settle in. Your skins integrity is my number one priority for the treatment.
Not all clients will need a touchup. The best way to ensure if a touchup is necessary is to contact your artist. Your artist will help guide you in the next steps.
ONCE HEALED
To help extend your brows life span, please strictly follow the instructions below.
AVOID Retin-A, moisturizers with glycolic acids, exfoliants, microdermabrasion, chemical face peels, laser treatments, and anti-aging products including lotions and serums on all areas of semi-permanent makeup tattoo. These can cause the pigments to discolor, fade, and lighten prematurely.
AVOID Lasers around treatment area. If you area having laser resurfacing or laser hair removal after your tattoo has healed, please inform the laser technician. Continue at your own discretion. Laser procedures may darken, lighten, or discolor the tattooed area.
AVOID Tanning beds
ALWAYS keep lips moisturized and protect from direct sunlight
There are no implied or written guarantees for your results if you do not take care of your tattoo. Everyone will heal a little differently.
Pigments will fade over time according to one’s metabolism, skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, medication intake, facial surgery, and smoking.
As tattoos age, warmth will escape the pigment. Periodic touch-ups will ensure long-lasting results and for the color to stay true.
