Li-FT Client Aftercare Instructions
It is essential to follow all aftercare instructions to avoid complications, scarring, and to achieve the best possible results. Please read carefully and follow these guidelines to ensure optimal healing.
General Care:
Keep the Area Clean and Exposed to Air:
Do not cover the treated area with a Band-Aid or any other dressing. Leaving it open to air allows for faster healing. Avoid touching the area. If necessary, ensure your hands are extremely clean before touching the treated area.Clean the Area Gently:
Blot the treated area with saline 4-5 times a day using a paper towel or gauze. Do not use ice.Avoid Soaking the Treated Area:
While you can shower normally, avoid direct water spray on the treated area. If it gets wet, gently pat it dry with a clean towel.Avoid Water Exposure:
No bathing, swimming, saunas, hot tubs, tanning, or exercise. These activities can interfere with the healing process. No exceptions.
Scabbing Care:
Do Not Disrupt the Scabbing Process:
Do not pick, scratch, or disrupt any scabs. All scabs must fall off naturally. Picking or prematurely removing scabs can cause scarring and disrupt healing. Keep the scabs intact as long as possible for optimal results.Treat the Area with Care:
Be mindful of the treated area. Avoid any activities or conditions that could cause issues during the healing process.
Post-Scabbing Care:
Once All Scabs Have Fallen Off:
Apply 1 drop of Vitamin E Oil 3-4 times a day for at least 4 weeks, or until your next lightening session. Do not use Vitamin E oil until all scabbing has naturally fallen off. The goal is to keep the area dry and undisturbed until scabs fall off naturally.
Special Care for Lips:
Drinking:
Drink all liquids through a straw until the scabbing has completely fallen off.Eating:
Cut food into small pieces to avoid biting into sandwiches or anything that requires excessive mouth movement.
Healing Timeline:
8 Weeks of Healing Required:
A full 8 weeks of healing is necessary before another lightening session can be performed. This ensures the integrity of your skin and the proper healing process. No exceptions.Patience is Key:
Lightening and pigment removal is a gradual process, requiring multiple sessions. Visible results will typically appear after 2-5 sessions, depending on the amount of pigment, its depth, and how much needs to be removed for the desired outcome. What to Expect:
In many cases, only a portion of the pigment needs to be lightened or removed, allowing us to continue the correction with color shifting or color correcting. In cases of misplaced or unwanted pigment, the primary goal will be to remove as much pigment as possible.
Important Healing Notes:
Results May Vary:
Results are not guaranteed or predictable, as every case is unique. It is important to note that after your first removal session, the treated area may appear darker. This happens because the pigment is being drawn out of the skin through the process of osmosis. Visible results may begin to show during the second or third session as the pigment lightens and the area heals.
